Jason is a graduate student at San Jose State's Master of Urban Planning program. Originally from Los Angeles, he received his undergraduate degree in Business Economics and Sociology from the University of California, Irvine. Prior to his enrollment into the SJSU planning graduate program, he worked in communications, graphic and web design, volunteer coordination, student affairs, and older adult public health issues.
His interest is in urban design, community development, urban informality, international planning, and research. He has worked with the Greenbelt Alliance, Committee for Green Foothills, and the Asian Pacific Community Fund and is currently the Cal Planner Coordinator and an intern with ABAG San Francisco Estuary Partnership. His Master's project will focus on dementia-readiness of Bay Area cities, on whether present street features and urban form will aid in wayfinding and sense of ease for those living with dementia.
Previously serving as the secretary and webmaster of the UPC, he is honored with the opportunity to serve the UPC and the urban planning student body again.
